David Joe Miller Presents WORD! Honoring Black History

David Joe Miller Presents is beginning it's third year and their WORD! series continues to increase in popularity.  WORD! shows combine traditional storytelling with contemporary storytelling and performance poetry.  They celebrate the Spoken Word Art by including both local artists and nationally known artists in their shows at various venues in Asheville, NC. and Johnson City, TN.

On Saturday February 25th, at 2pm in the auditorium at Pack Memorial Library, 67 Haywood St., Asheville, you'll hear stories, poetry and songs as 8 time Moth Story Slam Champion, Raymond Christian from Boone, NC.  will join the immediate past president of the Asheville Storytelling Circle, Roy Harris,  local performance poet, Elizabeth Meade,  Johnson City performance poet, Jasmine Henderson, and well known Asheville busker/vocalist, Rhoda Weaver, to honor Black History during a very special WORD! show.

Doors open for seating at 1:30pm and the show will begin at 2pm.  Admission is free thanks to the sponsorship of The Buncombe County Friends of the Library, David Joe Miller and his wife, Robin Sanchez.
