Asheville, NC - On March 7, participating Asheville area restaurants are donating 15% of their food and drink sales to Asheville Humane Society during the nonprofit's 14th Annual Dine To Be Kind presented by Dr. David Crouch and Western Carolina Veterinary Surgery. Six premier restaurants are donating 25% of their sales including Avenue M, Native Kitchen & Social Pub, Posana, Roux at Hilton Biltmore Park, Smoky Park Supper Club and Sunny Point Cafe. Three restaurants, Doc Chey's Noodle House, IHOP (all locations) and Mayfel's will be participating on Monday, March 6. The community is encouraged to support local animals by dining out for breakfast, lunch or dinner at participating restaurants (to-go orders and bar sales included). Generous event sponsors include Prestige Subaru and iHeartMedia Asheville.
Carla Musgrove, special events coordinator at Asheville Humane Society, is excited about the lifesaving impact this year's event will have on both pets and people in our community. "Asheville Humane Society recognizes the strong bond that people have with their furry family members," said Musgrove. "With your support, we will continue offering resources to community members who are going through financial hardships so that surrendering their pet is a very last resort. We depend on the success of large-scale fundraisers like Dine To Be Kind to keep these programs running."
In 2016, Asheville Humane Society impacted the lives of 9,250 animals in the community with the help of generous donors and supporters. Help make 2017 another record-breaking year by dining out on March 7. A list of all participating restaurants can be found at www.ashevillehumane.org/dine-to-be-kind and on the Dine To Be Kind Facebook Event Page.
