Holiday Window Display Contest Winners

We are happy to announce the winners of Annual Downtown Holiday Window Display contest. Judging was based on originality, creativity, use of space and the Wow! factor.

1st Place: Sensibilities on Haywood Street

2nd Place: Amore on Lexington Avenue

3rd Place: Flower Gallery on Haywood Street

Honarable Mention: A Dancer's Place Patton Avenue

The judges gave awards of Honorable Mention to A Dancer's Place on Patton Avenue and City Bakery on Biltmore Avenue. The top three entries won prize money donated by First Citizens Bank, the Asheville Downtown Association, and McGuire, Wood & Bissette, P.A.

This year's competition drew 33 entrants from all over downtown. The displays coincide with Asheville's Holiday Parade and Light Up Asheville and adds excitement and charm for downtown's visitors during the holidays.

Thank You to the judges who braved the rain and cold weather Wednesday night: City Councilman Jan Davis and his wife Ann Davis, Polly McDaniel of the Asheville Citizen Times, and Lauren Williams of the Chamber of Commerce.
