Asheville Downtown Association celebrates volunteers, supporters at appreciation party

Asheville, NC – Dec. 11, 2017: Asheville Downtown Association hosted about 200 of the nonprofit’s volunteers, sponsors, board members and other supporters at an “Out of This World” space-themed party at Asheville Music Hall on Saturday, Dec. 2. The group, which came together to celebrate a successful 2017 event season, enjoyed food from Luella’s; drinks donated by Delicato Wines, Sierra Nevada, French Broad Brewery and Asheville Brewing Co.; and live entertainment by DJ Marley Carroll. ADA's main events for 2017 included Easter on the Green, the Downtown After 5 concert series, Pritchard Park Summer Series, the Ingles Independence Day Celebration, Oktoberfest and the Asheville Holiday Parade.

Roughly 335 people participated in ADA’s volunteer program during 2017, contributing an estimated 2,800 hours of service in roles like beer and wine service, water and soda sales, festival greening, backstage security, merchandise sales, setup, breakdown and guest check in. ADA is currently recruiting new volunteers for its 2018 season. Individuals, nonprofit groups and corporate groups are all welcome. Interested parties may email volunteer@ashevilledowntown.org.

ADA thanks Forge Mountain Photography for capturing highlights of the 2017 appreciation party at its photo booth. Thanks also go to event partners Asheville Music Hall, Diamond Brand Outdoors and all donors to our volunteer raffle.
