About us
For over 35 years, the Asheville Downtown Association has been at the forefront of nurturing and developing the economic heart of Western North Carolina.
Our journey is guided by the principles laid out in the 2009 Asheville Downtown Master Plan, leading us to champion a place-based economic development strategy that keeps our city center bustling and vibrant around the clock.
At the heart of our achievements are our 450-member organizations, Board of Directors, civic leaders, and community partners. Their passion, skills, and dedication are essential in advancing our vision.
Become a Member
We care about our community and want everyone to feel welcome in the organization as well as in Downtown. We show sincere interest in supporting all people and work collaboratively with diverse groups. We advocate for local economic and social issues, safety, and beautification of Downtown.

From organized clean-ups to planning a holiday parade for thousands of spectators, we respond– with enthusiasm– to community needs both big and small.
