ADAF Launches Program to Support Local Music Professionals

Heading

Through an initial contribution of $8,000 from the Asheville Downtown Association Foundation, including funding from an anonymous charitable foundation and the Brown Family Charitable Fund, plus additional support from Ingles Markets and Asheville Music Professionals, the program will provide 200 $50 Ingles gift cards to local music industry professionals.

Asheville Music Professionals (AMP) will administer the program on a first-come-first-serve basis, with applications going live on Friday, May 8 at noon here. Applicants must reside in Western North Carolina and be a member of AMP (membership is free). A recent survey by AMP identified access to food and supplies as one of many areas of concern for local music professionals.

“Music is the main component of events like Downtown After 5, so we feel a connection with the local music community,” Rogers added. She continued, “Artists were among the first to feel the impacts of the pandemic as gigs and events were canceled, and we wanted to find a way to offer some immediate support.”
