We couldn’t put on award-winning events without our amazing volunteers. Did you know it takes nearly 200 volunteers to make each Downtown After 5 happen, 100 for the Asheville Holiday Parade and JingleFest and another 100 for Oktoberfest?
That means we have lots of opportunities for you lend a hand. You can pour beer at Downtown After 5 or Oktoberfest, work the greening stations, help with setup and breakdown, even be a bike marshal in the Holiday Parade.

According to research, volunteers live longer, due to a culmination of benefits discussed in our guide, How to Volunteer as a Senior. I was hoping you would add this guide as a resource on https://www.ashevilledowntown.org/.

Not to mention that both our Volunteer Orientation (held in March) and Volunteer Appreciation Party (held in January) are not to be missed. You’ll enjoy mingling with fellow volunteers, delicious food, and of course, plenty of local Asheville beer (and wine for you wine drinkers).
