The City of Asheville announced that AVL Shares Space is extended until Jan. 3. AVL Shares Space is an initiative to allow businesses to expand into in order to increase their capacity during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The initiative includes:
- Curbside pickup zones
- Expansion on private property
- Expansion on areas of adjacent public sidewalk
- Expansion in adjacent on-street parking spaces (temporary parklet program)
- Expansion in on-street parking spaces along a designated pedestrian priority zone (shared streets program)
Businesses taking advantage of these opportunities must adhere to winterization guidelines found here.
