Surveys on How to Prioritize Federal Covid-Relief Funding

Buncombe County and the City of Asheville will receive significant funding from the American Rescue Plan for Covid-relief. The County expects $51 million and the City $26 million. It’s vital that downtown business provide feedback on their needs and priorities.

While the specific guidance on how funding can be spent has not been released, it must address economic needs associated with the pandemic.

Below are general guidelines for how Recovery Funding can be used from Buncombe County. Please keep these in mind when taking the surveys.

  • To respond to the public health emergency or its negative economic impacts.
  • To provide a premium pay to eligible employees for essential work
  • To address certain revenue reductions
  • To make infrastructure investments in water, sewer, broadband
